Founded in 1944 Kia is currently the second largest Korean car maker (as well as the oldest). Kia means 'to arise to the world outside of Asia.' They are based in Seoul South Korea and employ over 44,000 people.
Kia has seen their market share increase every year for the last 15 years in the United States. As of August 2009 they stood as the 8th largest car seller in the US.
